ghost towns still exist if no abandoned homes exist within them, they're a town or townsite that once had significantly more people/town related things (post office, train station, local factory/whatever industrial/general store, etc) than it does today

Neither uthoff or foxmead are ghost towns anymore. Repurposed as new homes are here now

Looks demolished according to the satellite.

You can see it from the parking lot... yes.

My father and his family lived in the house at the Chimney Place during the depression. He went to school at the "new" North River school and walked through the bush from the 12th concession to the school each day. The special feature of the school was indoor plumbing which most of the students had never seen before. His parents were Orville and Nellie Abbott and they lived there until 1940. Duncan Abbott

This is a beautiful property. I believe the family are the Laughlin. We had spoke to a family member last year and he said family still goes there to hike and camp out from time to time.

Eeerk... Glad I didn't know that going in!
Not one...but TWO pianos in this gem...if you're into that sort of thing.

I was in the area on Friday and stopped to check out the old train car. Too bad the weather is still not great or I would have really gone exploring! The quarry looks like it would make for a very interesting walk in the summer as well.

Great. Love this. As usual a white birch found it's way to grow in a foundation. Birch trees love foundations
