This has been since torn completely down, including it's foundation. I had been there prior to it's tear-down, and the large hook, which held a sign, had been laying on it's side.
I'm a weirdo for saying this, but I look at that house as having potential for living in...I keep imagining what it would look like during it's golden years, and wanting to bring it back to that state. Older houses were built to last through the worst of what the weather has/had to offer. Thanks, These pictures are really inviting and well taken. I'll probably wind up snooping around my

Hey lets have a preservation party...lol...Actually as it stands now I am quite happy with it. I think Oro Medonte should maintain it and use it as a tourist draw with gardens and such..Too bad they let Cahiague (Huron city of 1615 AD) and its historic marker go down the drain..

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet....... when you guys were there, did it look like "someone" had tried to preserve it in it's "present" state?
Ahh please get the history of this place..This is one of the best photo opps I have seen on here yet..
Thanks grievous, can't believe everything looks exactly the same!!!!

Guess they want to wait for $500,000 reno to make it right??
Hey Don ~ Great Location.
Does look like a Scarry place to live. Me thinks it's time for 'Crew to Start.' Always amazes me about the places people live/rent!
Scanlon is a great place to hike. There is also a hidden grist mill that i haven't (nor has anyone else) been able too find.

I've always wanted to visit this place, as we used to drive by it every weekend. Since relocating to Port Elgin 2 years ago we haven't been by. Looking forward to your '09 pictures.
