... Until now.

This stretch of Allanport Road leading to Port Robinson is now almost 100% industrial. Only 2-3 residential houses still dot the length of it, standing out like sore thumbs surrounded by metal holding yards and weight scales. For whatever reason, the landowners persevered for decades and refused to sell... but sooner or later, they are each destined to disappear.

This maroon-dominated house was abandoned in March of 2012, presumably due to a flooded basement. Its sits right on the property of Niagara Recycling and therefore Sunday-only visits are suggested to avoid detection. This was a nice house, and subtle signs like hot water pipes insulated with foam pads suggest that the home-owners took care of it well. But decay is just beginning to set in. Highlights include a fully furnished upstairs bedroom and refrigerator absolutely infested with insect larva. Mmmmm.

Leaving this one open access for a day or two so that basic-members can enjoy a look inside. But will lock it down FM soon to avoid any property owner concerns with its discovery on OAP.

I think this one has been demolished. Just a square of dirt left to show where it once was.

Really, if it wasn't for that first snowfall last week that sat un-melted for 3 straight days, I wouldn't have either. But any house without tire tracks at the end of that 3-day stretch was fair game.

Nice find, last time I was out there I never even noticed it was now abandoned.
