Madame Sherri is also known as Madame Sherri's Castle, this is an old ruin of once a beautiful and extraordinary castle. Madam Sherri is located on Castle Road, Chesterfield, New Hampshire, United States. Here the place was famous for its historical values and for those people who love to discover new things in the wilderness.

History of Madame Sherri

Madame Antoinette Sherri was a popular costume designer from New York, who believes to live larger than life. She has an extraordinary choice of being a fashion designer. She made her name by Broadway production and after the death of her husband, she strongly managed everything in one hand. One of her famous works was the famous Ziegfeld Follies.

She purchased many lands here in Chesterfield along with this specific land where the ruins only stand today, in late 1920. She planned to build an extraordinary lavish, luxurious summer home. The castle was three stories and a huge staircase outside the castle. This whole thing was never possible without the help of  Madame Sherri's former assistant Charles LeMaire, who was an Academy Award Winner Costume designer. She only believes in "only the best" that's why she made this lavish Castle. In its early days, Madame threw many lavish parties here hosted by electric bands from the city. Until her money runs out.

Deterioration of Madame Sherri

Once a famous Castle deteriorated due to no maintenance. Madame Sherri after her bankruptcy moved to the city and left the castle in isolation. Due to no maintenance and redevelopment of the castle, it was damaged. The castle stood still till October 18, 1962, when there was a massive fire that destroyed the beautiful castle. But before the fire, the castle also witnessed vandalism, which almost damaged this beautiful Castle. But due to the fire, there was nothing left in this old Castle. Only the significant staircase hanging half in the mid-air is what is left.

The current state of Madame Sherri

After the unfortunate event, there was nothing left. Almost the whole Castle was burned down. For remembering Madame Sherri the whole woodland was renamed after her. People still visit here to see the remains of the old Castle. Today only the stonework staircase, the foundation, columns, and a fireplace are standing out of the castle. These ruins are now attractions for medieval photographers, nature lovers, and ghost hunters.
