A very nice abandoned house with wrap around porch and old vehicles to photograph.

UrbanExplorer33:

Originally built in 1895 as a summer home for George Frederick Jelfs after he was appointed Police Magistrate of Hamilton. Jelfs named the summer house "Scireburna" after the small town in England that he lived in before coming to Canada in 1871. In the summer of 1918, Lindley Wilton visited Jelfs in this house, and they took many pictures to celebrate their reunion. These pictures are preserved by Hamilton in their local history archives. This house was the first house built out of all of the property around, and is still standing strong despite being over a century old.

The house is beautiful inside and out and would have been a very nice house back when it was originally built. It is more rundown now however and seems as though people have tried to stay here after the house was boarded up. There is only one way in through the side, but it is potentially dangerous due to glass so be very cautious if entering. There is evidence of water damage when examining the ceiling of the main room, however it is unclear of how stable the upstairs floor is. It seems alright, but be careful. There is flooding under the house, but there is no way to get into the basement so it doesn't seem to be an issue. Aside from the avoidable dangers of the house, it is an excellent place to explore and there are many things to be found in this house.
