GTR tunnel, built 1876 - Blue-Ghost-Tunnel--Merritton162.jpg — Grand trunk railway tunnel, AKA blue ghost tunnel. completed 1876. Roughly 600ft long, it was rendered obsolete within 20 years, as it could only accommodate single direction traffic. It was replaced by a pivoting steel truss bridge a few hundred meters north above the canal.
