I walked through this building a few times. It was used in the 1979 movie “An American Christmas Carol” as a furniture workshop, This made for TV movie that was filmed all over Elora and stared Henry Winkler “Yes, Fonzie was here” This building was burned down in the movie and I guess that only the shell remains. I went for another visit and was able to find what appears to be the bases of two grave markers. As I stood beside the stone pillar, I noticed the sign "Elmcroft" attached at the top on the north side. A call to the Oshawa Community Museum and Archives turned up nothing new. This site appears to be quite a mystery! That's okay - I haven't given up yet! :)

I have dropped by a couple of times in the past. The last time I hung out in the greenhouses, and took some pictures, and made my way towards the smoke stack. I entered the steam plant through the last greenhouse. I stared in amazement at the inside of the dark monster. Suddenly I was brought back to earth by screaming of an alarm. I did not open any doors, motion sensor? Just a heads up.

yeah you can just make out the words the salvation... on the front of the building. I wonder if they have any more info on it
