I remember when this place turned into the Pig & Whistle restaurant, and always wanted to go in and see what it looked like when the restaurant was open. Unfortunately, it closed down, and a suspicious fire happened at a convenient time in the building's life. More info can be found at: http://www.heritagecanada.org/eng/featured/current.html

LOL I like the Charley Brown zigzag
All I can say is that Public Housing does not work!!!
afg96, send me a message, I go by the place all the time. If you want I can stop for a bit, to go in.
This place is no longer safely accessable. The cops have it boarded up tight. The only way in is through a broken window which I would not suggest. In November the first time I went the back door was open, and than about a week later it was sealed shut and had to enter through window which is now boarded up too, and someone (NOT ME) broke a window to get in.
Was there a bar in the downstairs? If so, I have been there, and it gave me the creeps, and not just from the patrons LOL
According to what my grampa always told me, this house was lived in with no power. I can remember in the late 90's people coming and going from the house. They didn't appear to be Amish in the stereotypical sense but ya never know.
Locations of Historic Value are of important value and listed.

This has been since torn completely down, including it's foundation. I had been there prior to it's tear-down, and the large hook, which held a sign, had been laying on it's side.
Moss growing on the inside of any building, especially a derelict factory, is a favourite thing. You have a good eye for photography, enjoyed your trek. I hope some day I find this place.
I'm a weirdo for saying this, but I look at that house as having potential for living in...I keep imagining what it would look like during it's golden years, and wanting to bring it back to that state. Older houses were built to last through the worst of what the weather has/had to offer. Thanks, These pictures are really inviting and well taken. I'll probably wind up snooping around my
