This park was originally built as a nursery by Leslie and Dorothy Hancock in 1930. They later turned it into housing for the Japanese prisoners of war in WWII, to escape internment. It was sold to the City of Mississauga in 2010, where it has now been converted into a park, although the housing building is still left boarded up.
