Location # 13386

This farm c. 1870, is the former home of the William Arksey family & was most recently occupied by L Boyinton. There are several buildings on the property which is included in the "Built Heritage Resource" listings of the Cultural Heritage Resource Survey for the Town of Whitby. According to the Survey, "A ‘listed’ property has been included in the municipal heritage register by the municipal council as having potential cultural heritage interest, but is not designated under the Act." (Town of Whitby Cultural Heritage Resource Survey - Dec. 2014)

Despite being a 'listed' property, the decay is almost overwhelming. The floors inside the main house are covered in detrius, paint is peeling, & the ceilings and walls have sections missing. There is also a distinct moldy odor in parts of the house. The outside of the house is in decent shape, however.

Use caution if visiting this location.
