Driving Along Concession Rd. 8 I saw the hallmark of many abandonments, a caved in roof. Swinging the car around Storytrail and I crept up the road surveying the prospective location. Pulling in just past the driveway we noticed heavy machinery had been working the driveway out front but on a weekday afternoon there was no one to be found. Navigating the muddy entrance I began to wonder if the place was truly abandoned. Shouting out a hello and my canon raised to show my intent , I heard nothing in return. Knocking on the doors certainly didn't rouse any possible tenants, so we decided to circle the place. Peeking our head into the main building we instantly notied another tell tale sign...flooding. Using a stick we guestimated the depth at about 8 inches deep, with a sheet of thin ice on top. Not wearing/ prepared gators we continued to circle the building hungry as sharks. Just as we were about to give up we rounded the corner and found ourselves standing in an unusual yard of sorts. Trailers from long gone meat packing companies that occupied the infamous stockyards, bicycles, and an abandoned camper all fought for our attention, screaming to be photographed.
All in all this location was very stubborn on giving us any leads with the Piave trailer being our only lead. I can only assume that the building itself was some kind of abattoir before it flooded. If your in the area I highly recommend stopping in, and hey if you ahve gaitors or can wait till next winter I would love to see the inside done right. Until then enjoy!

Interesting little place. It used to be a speciality meat shop run by a G. Jambor back in the day. Can't find anything else, sadly.
Hmm strange, the power lines are for sure cut, I would be incredibly surprised if someone was in fact living in the front portion.
The heavy machinery has been working here since last summer. Not sure if they are waiting for drier weather to continue.

Thanks Maple the Piave lead has only turned up one lead about a meat shop that existed in the old stockyards in Toronto but nothing further than a fleeting mention.
